1 The area of scientific research concerns the search for new systems of ionic liquids in terms of the possibility of application in absorption refrigeration technology. The main objective of the work is the thermodynamic and physicochemical characterization of pure ionic liquids as absorbents and their binary systems as a function of temperature and composition. The conducted research includes synthesis, purification and analysis of ionic liquids, measurements of (vapor + liquid), (liquid + liquid) and (solid + liquid) phase equilibrium a wide range of temperature and composition, measurements of physicochemical properties, including primarily density, viscosity and heat capacity, as well as calorimetric measurements of excess mixing enthalpy. Experimental data are correlated using the Redlich – Kister, NRTL and UNIQUAC. The aim of the research is to select the most effective working pair, competitive for the {LiBr + water} or {water – ammonia} system used on an industrial scale.
2 Physicochemical properties play an important role in designing drugs, and also in the optimization process of the pharmaceutical product. The problem of low pharmaceuticals’ solubility became more significant, due to drugs in new therapeutic areas. - Determination the basic physicochemical properties of the API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient). - Selection of poorly soluble therapeutic substances based on phase equilibria in binary systems (solid-liquid equilibrium); correlation of experimental data using a GE model to describe the solubility curves. Determination of significant physicochemical properties. - Measurements pKa. - Determination of the solubility of the unionized form of API and profiling solubility in water as a function of pH. - Analysis to improve the solubility of sparingly soluble drugs by cyclodextrins complexation - improving the bioavailability of the drug in the human body.
