The process of plasma conversion of methane can be conducted in plasma or plasma-catalytic systems under oxidizing or reducing conditions. The source of methane can be biogas, which, is formed from various kinds of biomass, and has a different composition and content of methane. For this reason, not every biogas can be used for energy purposes. Biogas with a high carbon dioxide content cannot be used directly as fuel but can be converted into hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and longer-chain hydrocarbons. The obtained products can be raw materials for further chemical syntheses or be used for energy purposes.
