1 My research subject is an influence of steel pipelines wall losses resulted from electrochemical corrosion caused in service period, detected with diagnostic tools, on the failure probability of gas transmission pipeline. The structural reliability of underground pipeline calculated in long time operation is considered as a stochastic process consisted in a random degradation degree of the pressure elements. Bayesian updating method as well as Monte Carlo simulation are applied in the study for calculation of structural reliability of steel pipeline in long time operation. The second research area of my is usage of composite materials for steel pipes reinforcement in localized corrosion defects and setting of optimal insperctions strategies. The aim of the doctoral dissertation is to improve theoretical knowledge of pipeline wall corrosion degradation and develop a steel pipeline structural reliability calculation method for practical engineering applications.
