""The research topic addresses the problem of compressible and transient flows through a channel of variable diameter and/or variable geometry. The investigations are based on numerical simulations in computational fluid mechanics using the OpenFOAM toolkit. Tasks in this research area include:
- development of the computational model: geometry, computational mesh, and boundary and initial conditions,
- development of a script in C++ to determine local entropy sources from the simulation results,
- to conduct numerical simulations with and without taking into account the bulk viscosity of the gas.
As a result of the research, the authors should draw conclusions on the influence of bulk viscosity on the formation of local sources of entropy and its impact on the energy loss during transient and compressible gas flow.""
