Development of methods for the elemental analysis of materials from the oil industry, especially crude oil and petroleum products, catalysts for oil processing, biofuels, environmental samples, sludges and wastes. Some elements poison catalysts for oil processing, pose corrosive hazards and pollute the environment, so it is necessary to have appropriate tools to control their content. Novel analytical methods are being developed using atomic spectrometry techniques. Recently, high-resolution absorption atomic/molecular spectrometry techniques in a graphite furnace/flame, which enable previously unavailable measurements, have become particularly important. Methodological investigations include: inventing more effective analytical variants, explaining interferences, using advanced methods for background correction, developing chemical modifiers and usage/eliminating the effect of an analyte chemical form.
