2	The proposed research area encompasses the description, modeling, and design of circuits and systems for hardware cryptography. This area may encompass topics related to the use of truly random number generators (TRNGs) and physically uncopyable functions (PUFs) in hardware cryptography. The proposed topics involve the mathematical description of non-steady-state processes, such as metastability, the dynamics of nonlinear systems (including chaotic ones), and noise phenomena with a physical basis, as well as the study and description of their stochastic properties.
