1 The aim of the research is to develop the theory of floating-point calculations for elementary and special functions, using "magic constants" (bit-manipulation technique) for various formats - fp16, fp32, fp64. Development of a modern theory of approximation of such functions by algebraic polynomials and fast algorithms for calculating functions (square and cubic roots, logarithms, exponential functions, trigonometric and hyperbolic functions) and special functions (e.g. Box-Muller transform, activation functions) on variable platforms with limited resources such as microcontrollers, handhelds, and FPGAs. This is an important issue in embedded systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), Machine to Machine (M2M) communication technologies, and deep learning (DL).
