Experimental and theoretical study on mass transfer processes in liquid-liquid dispersed systems including multiphase systems. Preparation of structured liquid systems such as e.g. multiple emulsions for delivering active substances and encapsulating drugs, living cells, nutrients, or cosmetics. Intensification of mass transfer processes in a Couette-Taylor flow with different rotor geometry. Study of the release of active substances (e.g. drugs) from multiple emulsions. Modeling the process of the release of active substances from multiple emulsions and liquid and solid carriers with complex structures and their transport in the environment of the tumour. Cryoprotection and banking of chemically and biologically active materials (e.g. living cells) in 3D multiphase liquid carriers such as multiple emulsions. Separation processes of valuable metals and reduction of membrane fouling by using a Couette-Taylor flow.

Chemical Engineering
