| 1 | The research problem is devoted to light-induced phenomena observed in novel polarization-sensitive materials belonging to the class of azo polymers, as well as to the possibility of using irradiated azopolymer layers for the fabrication of selected photonics devices. Scientific attention will be focused on the efficiency of optical anisotropy generation (measurements of photoinduced birefringence, optical dichroism) and the efficiency of surface relief grating formation for various irradiation conditions. The ability of irradiated azopolymer layers to align liquid crystals will be determined (anchoring energy measurements) together with the ability to generate pattern alignment so that diffraction gratings dedicated for beam steering applications could be fabricated. | Physical Science |
