The research field includes urban and spatial planning in regards to spatial transformations of cities in Poland, both currently and in the future. Especially in connection with new development challenges (climate change, pandemics, increased costs of energy), notably the cities in suburban areas. The most important subtopics are: • urban transformations of cities in Poland in terms of the dispersing of buildings, the use of ""urban voids"" and degraded areas (e.g. post-industrial), •urban transformations of cities in Poland in terms of preserving identity and cultural values, •research on the differences in the development of post-socialist cities in the aspect of differentiated planning law, •study of the impact of Polish spatial planning directives on the development structure of Polish cities, including ""city density"" in the light of living conditions (positive crowding or dispersion), •The quality of life in the city and the transformation of housing units according to the principles of sustainable development.
