Exosomes are extracellular signaling molecules secreted by eukaryotic cells, the presence of which in body fluids makes them a potential and easily accessible biomarkers of various pathological processes, including cancer. Taking blood serum rich in exosomes from patients with cancer is a simple and minimally invasive procedure. Methods for detecting exosomes can be used not only to monitor the stage of a given tumor, but also to assess the effectiveness of the applied therapy, including immunotherapy, targeted or combined therapy. The aim of the project is to optimize a specific method of isolation and determination of the content exosomes in blood samples from patients in order to monitor the therapy of cancer. The project is implemented in cooperation with Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin as part of the "Institutpartnerschaft" program granted by Alexander von Humboldt foundation.
