The synthesis and spectroscopical characterization of the applicational properties (e.g. acidity, solubility, binding of analytes, equilibria in solutions) of phenylboronic compounds. Such compounds may interact with diols, anions, polymer systems, forming supramolecular systems with applications in many fields of chemistry. This interaction constitutes also the molecular mechanism of biological action of phenylboronic compounds, which is also the subject of studies.
